Proyecto de Cuba
Description: In this project we has past knowledge on Che and who he was. We had watched a video on Che and we were required to give a speech on him. We than learned the rules on giving commands in Spanish. We were required to practice these commands and become familiar with them. I chose the option to find a popular cuban desert than Che would have eaten. We were suppose to translate our english recipe into Spanish by using the commands.
Reflection: I really enjoyed this project. I stayed engaged by looking for a recipe I would enjoy cooking. I love coconut and chocolate so I was inspired to cook this cuban desert. I began to develop a better understanding of commands in Spanish because I was interested and involved. I enjoyed learning about Che and being able to present what I learned at the exhibition.

la Casa de Mango Street
Description: In this project we read different chapters of The House on Mango Street. We were required to come up with a story of our own about our own house basing it off of how the real story was written. We than had to record and audio of us telling our story.
Reflection: This project really influenced my Spanish speaking skills. When I was recording I tried really hard to make no mistakes so every time I messed up reading I would re-do it. This helped me get more familiar with reading Spanish I liked being creative and being able to make up my own story kept me engaged. Overall this project brought me farther with my Spanish vocabulary and reading skills.

Las Ramblas- (la proyecto de biografía)
In this project we were given a research layout to start. We chose a famous hispanic person. I chose Dolores Huerta. Dolores was a feminist and a farm worker activist. We researched about their lives at different stages and ages. We learned why they were important and we learned all about their passion. We turned our research into a presentation and we created questions that we were suppose to be able to answer in Spanish when asked. At our exhibition we dressed up as if we were the person we had chosen. We shared our presentations and our speeches that we wrote. Throughout the project we were focusing on the past tense.
This project went really well for me. I stayed engaged and began to gain a better understanding of the past tense. I began to understand the preterito and the imperfecto. I learned about the different endings we need to use depending on what we are saying in the past. I really enjoyed this project. I enjoyed being able to have the freedom of researching any famous hispanic person and writing about them in the past. I thought the exhibition was really fun! I enjoyed sharing my speech and impressing the community and my parents. I liked having the practice of speaking in a different language. Overall this project really benefited me.

Story De Izzy Bonecutter
¡Hola! Me llamo Izzy Bonecutter. Nací en Albuquerque, Nueva Mexico. A la edad de diez, viajé a Costa Rica. En Costa Rica acampamos en la jungla. Había muchos pájaros y los serpientes, y los bichos en los árboles. Un día yo nadé en el mar. Yo vi los pescados y criaturas del mar. Fui a la pesca. Cuando yo caminé a la tienda de campaña, corrí y me caí en el arbusto. Yo vi un serpiente grande viniendo a mí. Me levanté y el serpiente me mordió. Grité. Mí mama corrió a mí y me cargó al hospital. Al hospital tomé la medicina, y me desmayé. Me desperté y comé. Nosotros fuimos a casa, y después estaba mejor. Recuperé cinco días mas tarde.

Reflection questions
-In this project we were required to create a engaging piece of work that included past tense verbs along with the Spanish vocabulary we had been studying and working on. It was important we stayed in the past tense, as we were creating a story that clearly portrayed am important event in our past. I decided to write a fiction story about an adventurist trip in the jungle of Costa Rica. My story was about the time I was brutally bitten by a snake that sent me to the hospital. We had to use the conjugations to make our verbs past tense. We then were required to create an image that went along with our story.
- It is very important and relevant to my education to learn the past tense because if I want to be able to be able to say anything in the past tense I will need to be familiar with the endings for AR, ER, and IR verbs. In our everyday lives we talk in the past tense weather we are talking about something that occurred an hour ago, or 2 minutes ago. It is important for us to be able to know how to talk in the past tense, so that we can refer to the past.
- Using the preterit and imperfect tenses helped in writing my story because it helped me refer to something that happened in the past. The imperfect tense helped me stretch my story and add more of a variety than if I was staying in the Present tense. Being able to use these in my story creates a whole other half and more options.

Un dia en la vida de...
In this project we were required to create a story that portrayed a day in the life of a character that we chose. I chose to base my story on a whale and her day. Throughout the story she gets beached by a huge wave that leaves her stranded and helpless. A small family than spots her and places her back into the sea. She swims away and meets her family again. We were required to use at least 15 reflexive verbs, and have a minimum of five pages in our story. We were encouraged to use the verbs we had learned and studied. This project was used to stretch our reflexive verb usage and help us put together the Spanish language and the tools we had been developing.
Reflexive verbs, are verbs that exist in Spanish, not in English. They are verbs that describe something you are doing to yourself. For example, "I wash myself." This in spanish would be, " Me baño." I conjugated the verb, and Ialso used a reflexive pronoun. (Me) These are important because you need them if you are trying to say that you do something to yourself. It is only correct if you use a reflexive pronoun.

Porque Statement
I want to learn another language because in our society today, there is a wide verity of races that speak different languages. Spanish is very important to learn because many of the jobs in the U.S require you to know spanish to be able to communicate with the costumers, or patients. Traveling is something I really love to do, and if I decide to travel to a spanish speaking country, its important to me to be able to communicate to the people in that country. I would love to be able to get a better taste of the world, and be more connected to something I'm not around all day in my every day life.
Quiero hablar otra lengua porque quiero viajar a un país de habla española. Quiero ir a Costa Rica. Quiero ser una enfermera. Hay muchas personas que hablan español. Me gusta a aprender español.
