happiness project
In this project, we dissected from what made us happy. We pulled evidence from BNW and wrote a essay informing others on what makes us happy. We had a outline, and we gathered information and evidence, and created a piece that would help us for the seminar. We had two seminars, and we used one of them in a exhibition. I gained so much info on happiness and meaning.
I really enjoyed doing this project, I learned a lot about myself along with our society and it's happiness. The main take away I got out of this project was that our society is so focused on the machanic part of life, and it is important to focus on nature and the other things around us because most of the machanic things we focus on are bad for our earth. I thought it was really helpful to relate to BNW, because we could compare our lives to it. In all, I thought it was a very successful project.
Model UN project
-This project was about the Palestinian and Israeli conflict. We had to be assigned a country, and research our country. we had to write our countries perspective and write policy papers, and resolutions coming from our countries. I was China. There were many concepts we had to incorporate and think about to have a thorough speech. We had to think about where we where going to place the Palestinians and Israelis, land, money, aid, war, etc. This issue has been going on for many years, and we are trying to come up with a solution to the issue to create peace.

the mask project
1: What are you most proud of about your project?
I am most proud of the uniqueness I have put into my project. It was a one of a kind project, and I think it was a neat way to display my work. Though It took a lot of effort and time, I am proud of my finished mirrored box effect I added. I think being able to create something that's different catches the viewers eye, and adds a twist to the project. I'm really proud that I could come up with an idea like that because it all paid off in the end. I think the mask itself was also something to be proud of. I used refinement and really thought out was I was going to do.
2: Quote: Quote the section of your essay that you are most proud of and describe, in detail, why you are proud of it.
" Many individuals are scared to break the harmful cycle of socialization because they're scared to be judged and become thought of differently. Many people are scared they won't be accepted. Because I am also someone who is judged it scares me to step up and stop it. I could be accepting towards others showing them I accept and appreciate them for who they are. I can also have an open mind to new people and new perspectives. I'm able to keep my flaws to myself and not take them out on others, because it just creates a negative effect on our side society. What can we as an individual do to make a dramatic change in our society one human at a time? In the movie “That’s So Gay,” a women who is gay talks about how being lesbian is ok, and she stands up for others. She has brought a positive effect to our society."
I am most proud of this part of my essay because of the point it is trying to make. I think being able to break out of the cycle of socialization and create a positive effect on our society is so important. I think that being able to be accepting towards others and let everyone know they are equal will create a huge positive dramatic effect on our society. So many people are judged on a daily basis and the only ones who can stop that is us. I think this paragraph describes and shows how we can help the problems our society is facing.
3: Biggest take-away: What will you remember from this project? Why?
I think the thing I will most remember about this project was making the masks. I remember plastering my partners face and seeing everyone in the room having white faces and breathing out of straws. Just the sight of that made me laugh so hard. I remember having Cameron on a table and water spilt under her. She couldn't move the water or see where it was coming from because she couldn't see. She was yelling my name, and I was laughing so hard watching her, I couldn't help her. I think getting our faces plastered brought trust to each other while bringing us closer together.
4: Habit of Heart and Mind: Witch habit of heart and mind do you need to work on next time to get better at project based learning? Why do you need to improve and how will that Habit of Heart and Mind help you?
I think I need to work on evidence. I am always so caught up in the main project I don't keep track of evidence. I need to annotate more and pull the important stuff aside so I can add it to my main project. I think being to able to have evidence will help me by understanding what I am learning about. I think having something to support your writing makes it easier to understand also

1:What are you most proud of about your project? Describe it or put it in quote. Why do you think you are proud of it? Be specific.
Over the past couple weeks we have been working on writing our own tragedies. I have really enjoyed this project. The thing I am most proud of is my effort I put into my project. From the beginning I was always willing to type, write, or supply props. You can tell in the writing we took time to make it detailed and worthy of being read and shown. I feel like having this be a project I am proud of it pushes me to do more next time to make myself even more proud and surprised of my abilities.
2: What advice would you give a student next year about how to be successful with this project? Be specific.
Next year if a student where to ask for my advice on how to be successful while doing this project I would tell them to use their time wisely. As a group, Cameron and I would find ourselves getting distracted, or wanting to do other things, like talk, chat with other groups, stare at the clock, and not get work done. One day we decided to work super hard. We finished our whole script in two days. Than we got feedback from Sarah and realized we should have worked at a constant pace doing our best effort. We than wrote another script, and put in our best effort, and I am super proud of that. I think when we messed around we didn’t realize how little time we had to finish. Always work your hardest and be aware of your time limit. Don’t procrastinate!
3: How do you feel working in partners went? Did it work out well? In what ways? What was challenging? Be specific.
I think working in partners gave me an overall positive experience. I would have never been able to do it without Cameron. It was awesome being able to share our ideas and communicate and help each other out. The last 4 days I got super sick and wasn’t able to be at school. Luckily I could count on her to be responsible. While I was sick I still helped as much as I could, I sent photos, and gave feedback. Partners really help in situations like ours! I think partners have many up factors. Something’s that where challenging with having partners where not knowing what to do while the other one was doing something, or feeling guilty because you feel like your partner has done more work than you. A way to handle this is to make a plan from the start so that each partner feels equal in work time and value. I would definitely recommend choosing a partner you know you will get work done with.
4: What proved to be the most challenging task for you personally and how did you work to overcome it? Be specific.
The most challenging part of this project was understanding our topic and making sure all our information we were putting in our script was true. In our first script we had written things like, “after she crossed the border she got a job, a bank account, and etc.” Than on our feedback we realized this wasn’t even possible for someone who illegally crossed the border to America. To solve this we researched our topic a lot more so we could find true facts. We ready documentaries and different sites and quotes. Having true information is a huge part of writing. False information can make your tragedy sound made up, and inaccurate. Over all I truly loved doing this project and being able to have individual work time. I loved my partner and I really appreciated all the help from my teacher and classmates. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see any presentations because I was sick, but listening to everyone’s ideas in project work time was enough. I loved editing others work and getting to read it. I liked seeing everyone’s ideas. I would definitely recommend this project to incoming freshman.
